Taniwha Solutions site updated to Drupal 6

taniwha.png

This is just a quick note to let you know (if you hadn't noticed!) that we've updated this site to Drupal 6. We've done this for several clients over the last few months, and figured it was time to do it on our own site. We've used a theme Acquia Marina for now, but we'll update this to something more customised as we find the time!

Drupalcon Washington DC 2009

Drupalcon Washington DC 2009 - Individual Sponsor

Well, tickets for the DC conference are open! And we've signed up one of our resources (me) to attend. We have also offered a minor sponsorship for the event, they call it "individual sponsor". Happy to help!

Here's the blurb from the conference website:

DrupalCon is the official Drupal unconference that attracts the most talented open source developers and innovative web shops in the world and brings them together to share knowledge, make decisions on the future of Drupal, and get to know each other in person.

DrupalCamp Australia 2008

Well, we just got back from a hectic (and very long!) day in Sydney at the DrupalCamp Australia 2008. Of course, Taniwha Solutions was a sponsor, and of course, I was presenting. This time, on automated testing in Drupal. I wrote the notes on the plane on the way there, but the talk seemed to go well, and a few people came up to me and asked questions later.

DrupalCon is THE conference for Drupal developers, and it's coming to Washington, DC, March 4 – 7, 2009! For those new to the DrupalCons, this is a huge unconference for developers. It's a time for us to get together, learn from each other, trade ideas, make decisions, and build a stronger community.

Ubercart and Drupal 6

One of our clients came to us the other day, looking for an ecommerce solution for their product. After much deliberation, we have decided to use ubercart for Drupal 6.

While it's not quite released yet, we're finding it an awesome tool for this kind of site. When combined with Views 2, CCK, Panels, it's an unbeatable combination!

Taniwha at Drupalcon Szeged

Drupalcon Szeged

We've arrived at the Drupal conference! Currently in the Drupal keynote talk, with Dries (Drupal founder) and Rasmus (PHP founder). More news as it comes to hand.

New Module - Feedjit

I was reading a blog today, and it had a set of quite interesting widgets, showing realtime information about where in the world visitors to the site were coming from. There were also blocks showing realtime "related-pages" etc. This information turned out to be provided by http://feedjit.com/ which has been getting a little bit of buzz recently.

Taniwha going to Drupalcon Szeged

Drupalcon Szeged

Taniwha Solutions will be sending two people to the next Drupalcon in Szeged, Hungary. This should be another exciting opportunity to meet fellow community members, talk about the future of Drupal, and write some new code! Of course, there's a full schedule, but as I do more of these things, I'm learning that the real action is not at the sessions, but elsewhere!

Drupal Contracted Wanted

taniwha06a.png

We are looking for one or more contractors or employees to help us with various Drupal-based projects. The ideal applicant would have at least one year Drupal module development experience, and able to work to our timezone from their location (ideally Australia and New Zealand, but other places considered). As integration and scripting are often part of our projects, unix/linux experience would be advantageous.

Please send any questions to me at lyricnz[at]gmail[dot]com
