  • Barcelona Drupalcon 2007

    DrupalBarcelona-2007

As I write this, I'm sitting in the Welcome session at DrupalCon 2007 Barcelona. Over 400 people, from all over the world, meeting to talk and geek about Drupal. Wow.

    See the schedule. More later!

  • Another little project - MotoGPod

    MotoGPod

The last couple of weeks, on and off, I've been doing another Drupal site for a podcast that I'm a big fan of. The host already has a website, but is finding it a bit cumbersome to keep editing the HTML by hand, and he sees the advantages of a CMS (comments, automatic RSS feeds, easier to edit, etc).

So, we created a basic Drupal site, implemented a really simple theme (that's what he wants), enabled a few modules, added a few custom blocks, etc. No programming whatsoever. He was impressed... Then we get to the interesting part:

    DrupalBarcelona-2007

Tickets are all confirmed, we're going to Barcelona. Yay! Conveniently enough, MotoGP is on the weekend before in Estoril, Portugal, so I'm going a week early, and taking in that too! Wahoo!

  • Drupal 5.2 Released

Drupal 5.2 has been released, with a couple of important security updates, and a bunch of little fixes (four of them by yours truly). Go grab it, and apply it to your systems.

Note: if you just copy everything in the archive ontop of your install, you'll need to run update.php - there are a couple of schema changes.

  • Installing IE on Linux

    IEs4Linux-Desktop.jpg

I just stumbled across a useful tip for you Linux users. If you want to test your websites on IE5, IE5.5, IE6 - it's actually pretty easy to install them under wine. In fact, there's a really tidy script you can find at IEs4Linux. The instructions are simple - just download it, unpack it, execute it, and answer a couple of questions, and you've got the three versions of IE mentioned above, all ready to run from Linux.

    Too cool.

  • Drupal Contracted Wanted

    taniwha06a.png

We are looking for one or more contractors or employees to help us with various Drupal-based projects. The ideal applicant would have at least one year Drupal module development experience, and able to work to our timezone from their location (ideally Australia and New Zealand, but other places considered). As integration and scripting are often part of our projects, unix/linux experience would be advantageous.
